The Art of Bill Ross

                                   October 7 - November 19, 2016

The Art of Bill Ross incorporates classically inspired visuals with meticulous draftsmanship to create his provocative artwork.

The artist's medium of choice is charcoal and colored pencil on black or toned paper. His process is one of discovery. No preliminary sketches are made. An image is rendered on a large sheet of paper, and while always being conscious of composition, more images are added and embellished for dramatic effect. Over time several themes emerge till one is chosen.

Ross is adamant that the most important element of the drawing is the visual. Although each piece is titled and may suggest a subject, he prefers the viewer create their own narrative.
